Situated in the Gwent Valleys, Brynmawr is an attractive bustling market town with an energetic community spirit.

Shopping

This, the highest town in Wales, nestles high above its neighbouring towns of Beaufort and Ebbw Vale, Nantyglo and Blaina, Blaenavon and Llanelly Hill and the Clydach Gorge. The Market Square, in which is found the Market Hall Cinema, is the focal centre of Brynmawr and offers numerous traditional, family shops. A new development is underway on the former Dunlop Semtex site, which will provide an out-of-town retail centre and leisure facility. Brynmawr boasts a good choice of restaurants and traditional hostelries.

Brynmawr has much to offer in the way of historical interest and culture. A key attraction is the newly opened Brynmawr and District Museum, devised and run entirely by volunteers. The museum houses work from world-renowned artists such as Mac Adams (originally from Brynmawr) and Andrew Vicari (rated 15th in the top 100 Welsh Heroes). Brynmawr has a Library, Community Education Centre and an Information Technology Centre. The town now stages it own Christmas lights celebration and numerous other traditional events throughout the year, all funded and run by the community.

Ideally located

Valley View offers convenience and an attractive, natural outlook. Brynmawr town centre and a major shopping outlet are both close by. The main A465 road links in one direction to Abergavenny (eight miles away), and in the other to Merthyr Tydfil (thirteen miles).

The town of Ebbw Vale, three miles away, offers excellent main line railway links to Newport and Cardiff. By road, the Welsh capital is 40 minutes drive on the A467.
