The Paddock is situated in the wonderfully tranquil village of Llanellen, set against the magnificent backdrop of the Monmouthshire countryside.

Location

The small village of Llanellen is an idyllic spot for a family home. Just two miles off the main A40 road along the A4042, almost midway between Abergavenny and Pontypool, the village has a fantastic location. It is only a short drive from the bustling market town of Abergavenny, making it an ideal setting for any family who enjoy peace and quiet but don’t want to be too far from the amenities.

The Brecon Beacons can be easily accessed to the North West. To the east along the A40 you will find Ross on Wye and Gloucestershire, and the cosmopolitan facilities of Cardiff and Newport within easy commuting distance.

Shopping

Llanellen benefits from the convenience of its very own Post Office and store, and is the perfect base from which to enjoy the delightful shopping centre in nearby Abergavenny where you will find all of the usual high street stores and supermarkets, alongside regular markets where you can pick up anything from a vintage bargain at the flea market to fresh organic produce at the farmers’ market.

Leisure

Set in the picturesque Usk Valley, Llanellen is in the centre of all the gems that South Wales has to offer. From walking in the Brecon Beacons to basking in the culture and history of Abergavenny – there is an activity to suit every taste.

The nearby town of Abergavenny is a real centre for leisure activities. In addition to the essential health and leisure facilities, the town is famous for its annual festivals. Each year the town plays host to both an arts and a food festival.

Llanellen itself is the perfect base from which to explore the fascinating history of South Wales. The village is two miles from the Abergavenny Castle and Museum, and three miles from the Blaenavon Ironworks.

There are two local golf courses, one of which has a driving range. Also, there is the Brecon to Newport canal for leisurely strolls or boating.

Transport

Llanellen is just two miles from Abergavenny which has fantastic A-road links to Cardiff and Newport.

The nearest train station is Abergavenny, 2 miles north of the village. Regular rail links to London can be caught at Newport station. There is also a regular bus service that runs through the village to Abergavenny, where there are onward links all the major towns and cities in the area.

Education

The nearby town of Abergavenny is served by an excellent local primary school and is close to a number of secondary schools.

Top quality private schools can be found in the area, as can colleges of further education. The universities of Cardiff and Newport can also be easily reached from Llanellen.
